Christian Rock Band Faces Severe Backlash for Post on Jesus’ Love for LGBTQ Community

The month of June has become a yearly event when the LGBTQ community celebrates their pride in their lifestyles. The rainbow, God’s sign of His covenant to never again use a flood to destroy the earth, has now been appropriated as a symbol of pride in a lifestyle of sin.

On June 7, the Christian rock band Seventh Day Slumber shared an illustration on their Facebook page of Jesus embracing an LGBTQ person with a pink mohawk, the pride colors prominently displayed on the individual’s shaved scalp.

The caption reads, “This picture is a powerful reminder of who God is, how God loves, and how none of us are out of His reach! You can come to Him in your hurt, you can come to Him in your pain, you can come to Him in your sin, you can come to Him in your brokenness. He loves you where you’re at. He also loves you too much to leave you there. Be kind to one another. You never know what someone has been through.”

American Family Association Issues Urgent Plea to Pray for America’s Protectors of Peace

On Sunday, June 13, the American Family Association (AFA) and millions of Americans will recognize the contributions made by America’s finest in a day of prayer and appreciation.

With negative press, malice and growing violence against law enforcement, AFA believes it is crucial that citizens, and especially Christians, lift up those who wear the badge as local police, sheriff’s departments and state police officers. They ask citizens to recognize officers and take tangible steps to show appreciation for their service, but above all, pray for these dedicated servants.

“We cannot emphasize the prayer component enough,” says AFA president Tim Wildmon. “The Bible is clear; we can and must pray. James 5:16 tells us ‘the fervent prayer of the righteous has great power to prevail.’ Proverbs 15 assures us that ‘the Lord hears the prayers of the righteous.’ Our prayers make a difference. We’re calling America to pray. Join us in praying for those who wear the uniforms of America’s peace officers.”

Todd White: Know Jesus’ Finished Work on the Cross to Fully Know Him

Seeing God as our heavenly Father cannot be accomplished until the cross is made real to you, Pastor Todd White says.

“I have to know the love of God to experience God,” he says. “To physically, mentally, spiritually experience the love of God is to be filled with His fullness.”

Before we can get to that point, White says, we must understand that the message of the Bible is summed up in the finished work on the cross. Then, “you can understand why you’re on the earth,” and make yourself “ready as the bride” to await the heavenly bridegroom’s return. {eoa]
