‘Let Freedom Ring’ Event Lights Up Grand Ole Opry With Prophetic Fire
As America celebrated its birthday on July 4, 2021, at least 4,000 worshippers filled a sold-out event at the Grand Ole Opry for an apostolic, prophetic “Let Freedom Ring” event, which began at 3 p.m. Central and continued for nearly four hours. Hosted by Pastors Kent and Candy Christmas of Regeneration Nashville and featuring a list of speakers that included Robin D. Bullock, Todd Coconato, Timothy Dixon, Hank Kunneman, Mario Murillo and Dutch Sheets, the event was livestreamed to thousands more online and recorded on video.
“We’re believing that God is going to move in a fresh way, in a mighty way,” Coconato said in a video posted to Facebook ahead of the event. “I believe this is a prophetic utterance that’s going to be spoken today that’s going to reverberate around the world. … God is about to pour out.”
As Kent Christmas welcomed worshippers to the event, he spoke forth the “apostolic anointing” he believed was on the service and the miraculous healings he expected to come forth, asking God to “break every yoke” and give back to all those who sacrificed to attend. Jasmine Brady led in worship, opening with CeCe Winans’ song, “Fire.”
“We believe that God is releasing a sound into the world from the heart of Nashville,” Candy Christmas, a member of the famed Hemphill gospel music family and worship artist in her own right, shared as she spoke about the genesis of the event. “Nashville affects the whole world with their music,” she said, pointing to the choir, directed by Grammy Award-winning artist Steve Mauldin, whom Candy said is a “powerful man of God.” Candy also introduced a host of other worship artists including Burton Gaar, who served as executive director for the event and also led in worship, along with Grammy Award winner Gary Chapman and the Isaacs.
In Kent Christmas’ powerful message, he shared about a vision he had more than 35 years ago in which he saw an old man in prophet-type garb who gave the repeated message, “The lion of Judah shall roar today.” Those words broke the spirit of intimidation and fear from the people in the city where the man spoke, Kent said. It then rose into the air before returning to settle on the demonic beings in the area, who then fled as the people of God picked up their weapons and gave chase.
This year, Kent said, God spoke to him and told him he would fulfill that long-held vision. “This is not just a gathering,” he told the assembled crowd, noting that God had purposes that will extend to the nations from this event. He told the story of the snake that attacked the apostle Paul on the island of Malta in Acts 28:1-5, comparing this to the intimidation the enemy has used to attack the church in the area of religious liberty. “This day, sayeth the Lord, we’re going to cut the head off of the snake,” Kent proclaimed.
“We feel a strong sense that God is moving in a new and fresh way and we are seeing the beginning of a massive revival,” Coconato told Charisma News after the event’s conclusion.
