California Chaos Demands Christian Response
In an anticlimactic display, one Sept. 15 headline reads, “Newsom Wins California Recall Election; Elder Concedes Defeat.” Despite much intercession and solid recall efforts, it appears Gov. Gavin Newsom will remain the dictator of California.
After what we witnessed on Nov. 3, 2020, can Americans still trust the democratic election process?
“About 63.9 percent of people were counted as voting ‘no’ in the election, according to the California Secretary of State’s Office, while 36.1 percent voted ‘yes,’ with all precincts partially reporting,” the Epoch Times reports.
“We said yes to all the things that we hold dear as Californians and I would agree as Americans—economic justice, social justice, racial justice, environmental justice, our values,” Newsom said in an election-night press conference. “All of those things were on the ballot this evening.”
From what we know of Newsom’s past administrative goals, we can expect to see the homeless crisis continue; communist curriculum remaining in public schools; COVID-19 mandates further destroying the economy; police departments still defunded while criminals roam free; and the state’s population continuing to decline.
The good news is, had the “yes” votes been enough to move the recall forward, a 46.9% majority would have placed Larry Elder at the helm. This is a significant turnout despite Elder being attacked by an egg-wielding lunatic in a gorilla mask, and while enduring the left’s derogatory propaganda. Even some prominent Black journalists and commentators spewed their predictable “Uncle Tom” venom.
Elder should consider remaining in the political sphere now that Americans know his name and have become acquainted with his character. His help is definitely needed in the conservative grassroots movement sweeping across the nation.
So, it seems evil is still prevailing. What is the church going to do about it? Did God not hear our prayers? Is America destined to fail? We can’t stop biblical prophecies from coming to pass, so what’s the point?
These are the taunting thoughts of the devil that every believer needs to take captive right now (see 2 Cor. 10:3-5). As the enemy takes time to regroup, so should patriots and Christians.
Consider the way Sean Feucht’s worship ministry has now gone full-blown activism, resembling a modern-day 2 Chronicles 20 movement. The praises are going before, and every believer should be encouraged now more than ever as the Lord fights our battles.
For those still waiting to feel called to rise up, consider yourself called. We shouldn’t need an open vision, three dreams and seven confirmations to act upon Matthew 28:19-20. If you’re alive, you’re called to be a world changer.
What talent will you let God use? Can you run for office or serve on commission boards? Are you available to peacefully protest alongside those who may not know Christ but love America? Should your church be open? Are you ministering to lost co-workers who sit next to you everyday? Are you willing to replace the silly memes and pictures of random junk on your feed with Scripture and truth-based opinions?
God anoints some primarily as intercessors but has given many more a voice to speak to this nation. Let’s move beyond gawking at harebrained headlines and get busy shifting the narrative toward His kingdom. {eoa}
