Deceased General of the Faith Speaks from the Grave
This is a direct quote from the late Kenneth E. Hagin. It is tremendous and I love it! I’ve been feeding on it of late. It is impacting my inner man. It is being injected into my “spiritual bloodstream.” This is the lifeline of the church in this hour.
“The consecration of believers was much deeper 50 years ago than it is now. Believers’ appreciation and reverence for the things of God and the move of the Holy Spirit were much deeper, too. And as a result, God honored that depth of consecration and reverence by giving his people great manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
“Believers today need greater consecration and dedication to God. In the churches I pastored in the 1940s, we used to gather around the altar and pray at the end of nearly every service. We often sang the old hymn, ‘is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid?’ We don’t sing hymns like that much anymore, but folks today need to heed the message of some of those old scriptural hymns.”
My Thoughts
There’s a connection between believers’ consecration and the power of God. Paul prayed for the church to know the “exceeding greatness of his power” (Ephesians 1:19). This great power will come into manifestation through purity as a result of our consecration—and real prayer. We’ve seen only a small measure of that power. When it comes into full manifestation, the church will once again have the attention of the world.
We are in a time of judgment according to 1 Corinthians 11:31:
“For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.”
Before God visits the nations in judgment he will begin at His house (1 Peter 4:17). When God releases his severity and judgments on the cities of the world, His people shall be separate. He is preparing a bride without spot and wrinkle that will be preserved in the time of God’s wrath that shall come upon all iniquity and unrighteousness. But He is also preparing His people for His glory that shall manifest through his glorious remnant church and be a mighty witness of power and mercy to the world in this time of gross darkness (for more on this theme see “Cleansing the Temple”).
Right now, many are examining the condition of their hearts according to what they are seeing in the world —the political upheaval in our nation, government tyranny, the corruption, the perversion, gross immorality, the hate, the uncertainty, the instability and the darkness, etc. Many are seeing these things through the lens of fear, but some are connecting with the emptiness of their hearts and seeking satisfaction and fulfillment in God. Many professing Christians will break their friendship and love affair with religion and the world and return to the Lord. {eoa}
Bert Farias’ books are forerunners to personal holiness, the move of god and the return of the lord. They also combat the departure from the faith and turning away from the truth we are seeing in this hour. Bert’s current passion is to promote a culture of the supernatural manifestations and ministries of the holy spirit in the church today and to pass it on to the next generation (passing on the move of god to the next generation).
