Facts are Facts: The Legalized Act of Killing Babies Must Be Stopped
This past week, 100,000 Americans stood in the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to protest the legalized killing of babies. It was the 49th consecutive year of this protest.
To listen to the Left talk of the issue of abortion, we get a very different picture than what seems to actually be taking place in our nation. People are waking up to the gruesomeness of this procedure that tramples the rights of our most vulnerable citizens.
According to a CNN poll, “Most Americans oppose overturning the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade precedent.” The article tries to lead us to believe that “Just 30% of Americans say they’d like to see the Supreme Court completely overturn its Roe vs. Wade decision, with 69% opposed.”
What that statistic selectively omits is that once Gen Z and Millennial adults have been educated about what the abortion procedure entails and “about when a human fetal heartbeat can be detected, 52% say they support a ‘heartbeat’ abortion ban, with exceptions for rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is in danger. Another 65% believe doctors should be required to search for a heartbeat prior to performing an abortion and 55% of younger Americans say they do not want their tax dollars to be used to pay for abortions throughout the world.” This is according to a poll from Students for Life of America (SFLA).
John Adams once said, “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”
The fact is the Gen Z and Millennial generations were raised with the terminology that a baby in the womb is simply a “fetus.” It was a very intentional and strategic use of language to deceive and take away guilt that an abortion actually kills a person.
Failed presidential contender Hillary Clinton, one of the leading advocates for abortion, made it part of her platform in 2008 when she first stated abortion should be “safe, legal and rare, and by rare, I mean rare.”
But that decidedly isn’t the case. The facts are that abortions aren’t rare at all when between 600,000-plus abortions are performed every year.
Without question, the liberal argument for abortion has moved very far past the threshold of “rare.”
In 2016, “The View” co-host Paula Faris interviewed Clinton, “I want to ask you about some comments that you made over the weekend on ‘Meet the Press,’ you said, quote, ‘The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.’ My question is at what point does someone have constitutional rights, and are you saying that a child, on its due date, just hours before delivery still has no constitutional rights?” Clinton said, “Under our law that is the case, Paula …”
With that statement, Clinton, and those who remain pro-abortion, hide behind the Roe v Wade ruling, which is nothing more than the legalization of murder and discrimination against and removal of the constitutional rights of the unborn.
Back to the CNN poll: While it may be true that 60-69% of Millennials and Gen Z currently say they support Roe v. Wade, another fact emerges. Once they are educated regarding the Supreme Court’s rulings in both Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton, “it becomes clear that they are neither familiar with the details nor do they fully embrace these details,” according to the poll conducted by Vinea Research, with a 3.5 percent margin of error.
As Adams stated, facts can indeed be stubborn things and the fact is that the legalized murder of babies since 1973 must be stopped.
The pending Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs vs Jackson, which pertains to Mississippi’s near-total ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, will most likely come this summer. It could very well be the vote that finally restores protection and rights to the unborn in the place that should be the safest — their mother’s womb.
Let’s save the baby humans. {eoa}
