GOD TV Calls Sean Feucht ‘Blasphemous’ for Retweeting DeSantis Scripture Message

GOD TV has called out author, worship leader and evangelist Sean Feucht for retweeting a message from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, labeling Feucht as “blasphemous” for doing so.

And Feucht did not take GOD TV’s response lightly, saying on Twitter “it’s time to tell the truth about some people in the church.”

The controversy began earlier this week when DeSantis, who has risen in popularity over the past couple of years for his bold attacks on the left, sent this tweet to his followers:

DeSantis bold“You gotta be ready for battle. So put on the full armor of God. Take a stand against the Left’s schemes. Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist. You will face fire from flaming arrows, but the shield of faith will protect.”

When GOD TV saw that Feucht had retweeted DeSantis’ message, the network responded on Twitter with its own message, saying Feucht may not have realized exactly what he was saying and that he ‘changed the Word of God.'”

“Precious friends, we don’t post this lightly. Perhaps Sean did not fully realize what he was sending out. But this is exactly the opposite of what Paul is communicating in Ephesians 6. In fact, this could be considered blasphemous. The passage is specifically saying that our battle is NOT against “the left” or “the right” or anything that could be considered “flesh and blood.” Our battle is against Satan.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against THE DEVIL’s schemes. For our struggle is NOT against FLESH AND BLOOD” (Eph. 6:11-12).

“Changing the word of God for political purposes (or for any reason!) is deeply concerning and dangerous. Sadly, many have merged politics with Jesus, when in fact, Jesus transcends politics. That is not to say that we should not be active politically. We should. But turning political devotion into devotion to Jesus leads to posts like this. Using God’s word for man’s purposes is extremely unwise and places you in a perilous position. Remember, Eve was tricked when Satan suddenly changed the word of God.

God TV Tweet“God has called us to love the lost, not to demonize them. If we disagree with someone politically, that does not make them our enemy, but our mission field. How will we reach unbelievers when we are mocking them or comparing them to Satan? ‘We love first because he first loved us.’ We too were once lost, and someone loved us.

“We pray that our dear brother will see the error here and correct it. We pray for his eyes to be opened, and that he will use his incredible gift to spread God’s love through Jesus our Messiah.”

Less than 24 hours later, Feucht tweeted his response to GOD TV:

“It’s time to tell the truth about some people in the church. They are desperate to be liked by the left despite everything they have said about Christians. They call us bigots, racists, etc.—and some, like GOD TV, want to apologize. They have gone full woke. They don’t have the guts to be honest about what some crazy politicians want to do to our country.”

Feucht says he refuses to be silent about that and will never be complicit.

“I’ve seen behind the curtain in the political realm and I believe that was for the purpose of telling the TRUTH above moves, agendas and principalities working.”

Feucht told churchleaders.com that “[God’s people] have a mandate, according to scripture, to tear down every ideology or principality that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. How more so an ideology that attacks our family, that attacks our children, that attacks the divine design of the Lord for people and how they are created. You know, not only abortion, but with the sexualized agenda to confuse kids and mutilate kids. How much more so should we attack that ideology and expose it, as it is a thing of evil.”

Some readers defended Feucht in response. Churchleaders.com reported that one said: “I don’t know what GOD TV does, but I know what Sean is doing. He is winning the lost, healing the sick and taking the love of Jesus to a lost generation. Keep going Sean.”

Feucht told churchleaders.com that he receives daily hate messages on social media and email for speaking out. One message he shared read: “[I] hope you, you family, your children and all Christians get [expletive] raped before you’re murdered.”
