God Moves at Florida Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival

Orlando, Fla., is getting a taste of The Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival this week.

The revival, which was born spontaneously on the last night of the Open the Heavens Conference 2010 in Daphne, Ala., came to Calvary Assembly of God in Winter Park, Fla., on Wednesday night. About 1,000 people were waiting in expectation for the Holy Spirit to move.

British evangelist Nathan Morris and John Kilpatrick, pastor and overseer of the 1990s Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Fla., have led the revival since its beginnings on July 23, 2010.

“We’re here to see the power of God,” Morris proclaimed after more than an hour of intense worshipping led by Lydia Stanley, worship leader at the Church of His Presence in the Mobile, Ala., Bay area. “I believe we’re in the days where we’ll see revival like we’ve never seen it before!”

Morris came to Christ in 2002 after a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit. He launched Shake the Nations Ministries in2006 and began preaching at large gospel crusades throughout the world. Kilpatrick is founder and senior pastor of Church of His Presence, and oversees the Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival with his wife, Brenda.

Though Morris and Kilpatrick intended to welcome the audience, Kilpatrick instead prophesied about a preacher who was on the verge of killing himself. Morris prayed for the man and launched into a sermon.

“There’s a call to the army of God to rise up and start winning souls,” Morris exclaimed. “For those sleeping, wake up! We must see a move of the Holy Ghost!”

He continued: “It’s time for revival. I don’t want to talk about; I don’t want to hear about it; I want to see it!”

Morris prophesied about a woman who started experiencing health problems after a great tragedy in her life. Unsure of whether she was in the audience or watching on TV, he spoke to her and said God would begin to heal her.

The woman came forward and fell down on the stage after Morris prayed over her. This started a trend, in which several men and women went to the front of the auditorium and fell to the floor in evidence that God was present and moving strongly.

“I’m beginning to think miracles are happening all over where people will let them,” Kilpatrick said.

As a sign of the Holy Spirit’s unpredictability, Calvary pastor George Cope did not greet the audience until two hours into the session. Morris then began to preach about revival and how Christians should hunger for God.

“If you never hunger for more, you’ve already begun to die inside,” he preached. Morris told the audience that going to church on Sundays should not fill us up, but leave us hungering for more.

“What is it with churchgoers that they’re satisfied by a little meeting? I don’t want a meeting; I want God,” he shouted.

The leaders opened up the altar toward the end of the service, where nearly the entire crowd filled up the area. Morris, Kilpatrick, and members of the prayer team laid hands on everyone who went forward.

The powerful service lasted 3.5 hours. Although no one leapt out of a wheelchair or was evidently healed of blindness, it was evident that God was moving.

To mark its entrance on Orlando’s airwaves, GOD TV broadcasted the revival live. “We hope to bring Orlando residents together and share the love of Christ with their family and friends as they watch the GOD Channel,” said Mike Meyers, GOD TV regional director for North America.
