New Zealanders marked the first anniversary of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Christchurch, which killed 185 people. More than 10,000 attended one memorial service held in a park. Police officers and firefighters read out the names of each victim. Following the reading, the crowd observed two minutes of silence at 12:51 p.m., the minute the quake struck one year earlier.
