Evangelicals in Mexico Pray Ahead of Pope’s Visit

Christians pray in evangelical Light of the World Church before the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI in Leon on Thursday. The Pope will arrive on Friday for a three-day visit to the Mexican state of Guanajuato. The biggest crowd in the city Thursday night looked to be thousands of young people a convention of evangelical Protestant missionaries near the highway exit leading to Bicentennial Park, where Benedict will deliver Mass on Sunday. Benedict will leave for Cuba on Monday.
