When terrorists attacked the United States diplomatic compound and a nearby CIA annex in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, six members of a security team for the CIA stepped up to defend hundreds of Americans.

The former military officers shared their courageous story in the book 13 Hours. The best-selling book by Mitchell Zuckoff is considered an inside account of what really unfolded within 13 unforgettable hours in Benghazi, Libya.

Zuckoff wrote the book with the men who were charged with securing the CIA annex.

American filmmaker Michael Bay brings their story to the big screen in 13 Hours, which hits theaters Friday, January 14, 2016.

Kris “Tanto” Paranto is one of the former CIA security contractors, who lived through the experience. He’s one of six men who defied orders to stand-down and rushed to defend those under attack.

Paranto shares the details of his story with CBN News. He is quick to note that he felt God’s presence, even in the midst of the horrific battle.
