Talk Radio Giant Tells Listeners to Vote for Ted Cruz
Rush Limbaugh has a golden microphone for a reason: he is the undisputed champion of talk radio, head and shoulders above everyone else in the industry.
And, whether or agree with him or not, you cannot argue that his opinions matter to a very large segment of the conservative movement in America. So, when he took to his show Wednesday and laid out the conservative case for Ted Cruz, many of the Christian voters who support the Texas senator should’ve been beside themselves with joy.
Here’s what “El Rushbo” had to say about Cruz:
“I opened the program yesterday saying, ‘You will never, ever have to worry about that with Ted Cruz.’ And then I expanded on it.
“And let me say one thing: If conservatism is your bag, if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote, there is no other choice for you in this campaign than Ted Cruz, because you are exactly right: This is the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan.
“In terms of doctrinaire, understandable, articulated, implementable conservatism, there’s nobody closer.”
That’s about as close as anyone is likely to get from Limbaugh at this stage in the Republican presidential primary process. And for a campaign that has prided itself on a lot of big-name endorsements in the early days of the campaign, this one is about as big as they come.
