Marvin Sapp has been transparent about his personal struggles over the death of his wife. Now, he’s taking a slice of his life to reality TV.

Sapp, the senior pastor of the megachurch Lighthouse Full Life Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., and a gospel sensation, is set to star in a new reality TV show with his three children.

In the docu-series, Marvin Sapp: Single Dad, Sapp and his son, Marvin Sapp II, and daughters MiKalia and Madisson will give a sneak peek about what life has been like for the family since Sapp’s wife of 20 years, MaLinda, passed away from colon cancer in September 2010.

“This is about a family man who really believes in family teaching his children core values along with trying to manage a successful business and a career,” Sapp told EEW Magazine News. “God’s good, so I am just going to keep it moving.”

The television series is produced by Open Rivers Pictures. It has yet to find a network home and the show’s debut date has not been released.

Sapp admits it has been difficult since the passing of his wife, who was his business manager and the administrative pastor at Lighthouse FLC. But, his family is pressing on.

“Every day is a new day,” Sapp told the Associated Press. “There are days when I get up and I cry, thinking of her. There are days thinking of her and I smile. There are days when I’m angry. … We miss her.”

Sapp’s new book is entitled Marvin’s Motivational Moments—Relationship Thoughts—A 90-Day Journey. The book provides advice for couples and singles.
