Justice Ginsburg Is Reacting Out of Fear of a President Trump

Justice Ginsburg has let it be known that she wants to retire, but is holding out until after the election so that Hillary Clinton will appoint a hard-core feminist to replace her. But now she is getting nervous about Trump:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s well-known candor was on display in her chambers late Monday, when she declined to retreat from her earlier criticism of Donald Trump and even elaborated on it.

“He is a faker,” she said of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, going point by point, as if presenting a legal brief. “He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego … How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that …

“At first I thought it was funny,” she said of Trump’s early candidacy. “To think that there’s a possibility that he could be president …” Her voice trailed off gloomily. “I think he has gotten so much free publicity,” she added, drawing a contrast between what she believes is tougher media treatment of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and returning to an overriding complaint: “Every other presidential candidate has turned over tax returns.”

This is typical of Leftist Elite gripes about Trump. Expression of hostility. Denial that he is genuine. No mention of any substantive issues. Expressing a desire to censor him, so that his message does not get out to the general public. Wanting to use authoritarian powers, such as tax returns, to control him. Panic and depression about the possibility that he might actually get elected.

I have never heard of another Supreme Court justice making such blatantly partisan political statements during a political campaign.

Obviously her true reasons for opposing him have nothing to do with his tax returns. She fears him because he is the most formidable foe the Left has seen since Ronald Reagan.

Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972, when she started her national volunteer organization called Eagle Forum. In a ten-year battle, Mrs. Schlafly led the pro-family movement to victory over the principal legislative goal of the radical feminists, called the Equal Rights Amendment. An articulate and successful opponent of the radical feminist movement, she appears in debate on college campuses more frequently than any other conservative.
