Believers Called Upon to Intercede for Colorado Baker Prior to Supreme Court Case
Centennial Institute today announced its Day of Prayer for Colorado baker Jack Phillips on Sunday, Dec. 3. Jack Phillips is a baker from Lakewood, Colorado, whose case will be argued before the Supreme Court on Dec. 5 on behalf of religious freedom and freedom of conscience.
His case is one of the most important religious freedom cases of our generation. Jack’s story can be seen here.
Jack Phillips opened Masterpiece Cakeshop 24 years ago to serve his community, share his artistic talents and honor God through his everyday work. Jack named his business Masterpiece Cakeshop after Ephesians 2:10, which says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we should walk in them.”
Jack Phillips’s conscience would not allow him to design a custom cake for a same-sex wedding. Masterpiece Cakeshop became the subject of vicious attacks from the left and threats of government punishment.
“Religious freedom needs to be protected. We are calling on people of all faiths to join with us in praying for Jack Phillips, who has travelled this long road and for the Supreme Court to do the right thing,” said Jeff Hunt, Director of Centennial Institute.
Colorado Christian University President Dr. Donald Sweeting will hold a special prayer conference call on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 9 p.m. ET. The phone number is: 877-229-8493, access code: 116118.
Please share this and join believers around the world to pray for Jack Phillips and for the wisdom of God to prevail in the hearts of the Supreme Court justices. {eoa}
