Dr. Michael Brown Warns Spirit-Led Christians of the Darkness Lurking Behind Halloween
Is it spiritually dangerous to celebrate Halloween?
On the one hand, Dr. Michael Brown says, it’s easy to look at the holiday and see the fun costumes, the silly decorations and the fun parties. On the other hand, Halloween may carry more demonic influence than you realize.
“If you talk to people who are into satanism, it’s a special time of year for them,” he tells Jenny Rose Spaudo on the “Charisma News” podcast. “If you look at the type of movies that come out, even movies by the name Halloween, they tend to be violent horror movies. There’s something about this season that attracts a lot of darkness.”
Brown remembers fasting and praying one day when he suddenly felt this unusual demonic attack and evil presence. Then it dawned on him: Well, no wonder. It’s Halloween!
Because of the spiritual darkness surrounding the pagan holiday, Brown says it’s important that Christians look beyond the silly masks and the free candy.
“I remember interacting with one man who became very infamous for murders that he committed and for satanic activity, and I was also watching some interviews with him. And he affirmed that it’s this time of year—and Halloween in particular—that there is a lot of demonic activity and a lot of focus for them.
“I also remember speaking to another ex-satanist, and they affirmed the same thing. They said, ‘Oh yeah, this is a really sacred time of the year.’ In fact, this one individual in our ministry school … wanted me to know—’Dr. Brown, we should especially fast on this day.’ And I said, ‘Why draw attention to it?’ They said, ‘It’s really a time of darkness and satanists gathering together and things like that.'”
