How the Holy Spirit Is Using ‘Thank You Jesus’ Yard Signs to Save Lives

When one teenage boy’s desire to do something for Jesus combined with one woman’s desire to do something for Easter, they created yard signs, car magnets and wristbands bearing the words “Thank You Jesus.” What they thought would be a small venture turned into thousands upon thousands of orders for their merchandise and incredible stories of Jesus using those items to change lives.

In fact, Connie Frazier had to form a 501(c)3 to legally keep up with all the sales. All she did was follow the Holy Spirit’s leading—she called her church’s secretary, who ironically told her that her teenage son was praying for help on how to design an Easter yard sign. I invited Frazier onto my “Strang Report” podcast to explain her experiences.

“We have one beautiful one lady who called up who had put a yard sign up in her daughter and son-in-law’s yard,” she says. “And that night, he went outside to commit suicide. And when he got out there, there was a ‘Thank You Jesus’ sign in the yard. I’ve heard stories of people in car accidents where God just moved mightily, and somehow the sign was involved. …

“What’s been so neat about the phrase is that it means something different to everybody. Because Jesus is so personal, that relationship and what He’s done for each one of us is so amazing, that a sign becomes something different for each person who reads it. One of the neat things is, I hear from my non-Christian friends, and they’re always commenting, ‘I saw another one of your “Thank You Jesus” signs’ … and so what’s neat is it’s a witnessing tool.”

Frazier’s signs are an excellent example for why it’s so important that we be intentional about sharing Jesus with our hurting world. And not only intentional, but creative. We need to ensure we’re in step with the Holy Spirit to heed His guidance, even when it doesn’t make sense. Frazier wasn’t a graphic designer or an expert in this by any means, but she followed the Spirit, and He gave her all she needed to carry out that calling on her life.

“It’s been humbling, because this is truly a God thing. You know, the Lord called me to work on it … It’s really easy to watch the news and to think that we as Christians are a super minority; that we’re not organized. But when you see hundreds of signs going up in a community, you realize God has a very large family, and he has a lot of people who love Him and who are willing to share that love publicly. So it’s really neat to watch people’s faith blossom publicly.”

Is there something God has put on your heart to do? What are you passionate about seeing Him do through you? I hope Frazier’s story encourages you to stay consistent in prayer and the Word so you’re hearing the Holy Spirit’s voice in your life. Don’t be afraid to move forward when you feel He is leading you somewhere.

Will you pray with me that God continues to use Frazier’s business to turn people to Him? We need to be intentional about how we’re using the time, resources and skills God has given us on this earth. Share this article, and be sure to listen to my full interview with Frazier on how God is working through her business. {eoa}
