Bill Hamon: This Is My Highest Kingdom Priority
For many decades, Bishop Bill Hamon has adhered to the kingdom calling God laid before him, and the results have been tangible. As a discipleship trainer and the father of the prophetic movement, Hamon has seen multitudes come to salvation through his ministry.
But Hamon says that’s never been his highest calling, and it’s not the highest calling for any one of God’s precious children. There is a greater purpose.
“My highest (kingdom) priority is to be conformed to the image and the likeness of Jesus Christ,” Hamon told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Most people understand Romans 8:28-29, when Paul talks about the life experience he went through and the spirit of wisdom [and] revelation [see Eph. 1:17]. He learned that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
“Then he says the purpose is for whom He did foreknow, He also predestined to be conformed to the image and likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ, that Jesus might be the firstborn among many, like a whole family. In other words, a race of beings in the likeness and image of Jesus Christ.
“And really, that’s what God started out with. In the beginning, God created man, placed him on planet Earth and gave Adam and Eve power to recreate other human beings in His image and likeness. He gave them the wisdom and grace to train them up and raise them in His character, His attitude and His wisdom.”
Hamon says salvation is only the beginning. The rest is a process.
“When we get saved and our past sins are forgiven, we’re babes, and we must learn,” Hamon says. “We have to learn to be like God and act like Jesus in every way. We can be transformed, and the process of conformity that God set up will bring us from glory to glory.”
