This Kind of Prayer Allows Us to See More Miracles
Not only does welcoming Jesus into our everyday lives open us up to experiencing more miracles, but it also changes us individually, says minister David Bryant. Do you pray for God to boldly come and move in your everyday circumstances?
“We seek by prayer for more of Christ’s kingly work within us,” Bryant says. “And it should impact us on two levels. Yes, we open ourselves corporately, to experience in Jesus more of His extraordinary initiatives as we welcome Him to accomplish miracles among us as well as among many others beyond us for whom we pray, and to do it all for His glory.
“But at the same time we open the gates in our lives individually, to invite fresh displays of Jesus within each of us, as He draws us near to Himself, as He takes us to new ground with us, as He comes and answers, first of all, by conquering us all over again. Are you willing to pray like that? Do you ever pray like that?”
When we pray for other people, we’re inviting Jesus into the situation to act on it, Bryant says on the Christ Today podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. We’re welcoming Him in, acknowledging His lordship and ability to conquer.
“One might say prayer is opening the door and inviting Jesus to come in,” Bryant says. “I mean, every prayer you ever make about this situation, person, problem, challenge, opportunity, people group, nation … you’re really saying, ‘Lord Jesus, would You please come in? I opened the door a bit by this prayer for You to enter in and do what needs to be done.’
“To pray about anything, first of all, is to welcome our Lord Jesus to be among us to come and conquer us and conquer every one of those situations, to be present, to be manifest, to take charge.”
