What to Do When Your Strength and Heart Fail You
Have you felt like giving up lately?
If so, you’re in good company. Some of the greatest men in the Bible went through desperate situations and faced hopeless times: Joseph, Job, Elijah, Jeremiah, the three Hebrew children, Peter, Paul and even Jesus!
Look around; you’re not alone! The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 4:12 not to think it strange when we’re tried by fiery trial, and the trying of our faith is more precious than gold. According to James, these same trials strengthens our endurance, and when that’s fully developed, we will lack nothing.
Meanwhile though, things are tough. David understood hopeless times, but He also understood the God factor. What is the God factor? It says, “I may be between a rock and hard place … but God. There’s no way out of this … but God!
David said it like this, “My flesh and my heart fails, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Ps. 73:26).
Things make look hopeless, and you may feel like giving up … but God.
