Prophet: How You Can Recognize a True End-Times Messenger
I greatly admire Jeremiah Johnson’s ministry. I love that he delivers God’s prophetic messages with holy boldness and the courage of Christ, and that God can entrust him with hard messages that others perhaps are not willing to deliver.
As I listen to Jeremiah’s sermons and read his prophetic words, I am struck by a common theme: that of the end-times messenger. To be honest, every time I hear him speak on this concept, my heart skips a beat. I need to know more. So I decided to sit down with him on my Fire Starter podcast to ask him to explain the ministry of the end-times messenger.
Jeremiah told me of a life-changing encounter he had with the Lord in 2015 that forever marked his ministry. In this powerful God encounter, the Lord said, “I never want you to do ministry against outside of the context of the last days.”
After this intense dialogue with the Lord, Jeremiah began asking himself, “What would my ministry look like if it was marked with the reality of conducting it in the last days?” The Lord connected the dots for him, and Jeremiah began to clearly see the characteristics of someone who had an end-times messenger ministry.
The first characteristic of end-times messengers is that they are marked by eternity. They herald both the first coming of Christ and the Second Coming of the Lord. End-times messengers live in a constant a tension that Jesus has already come, and they spend their lives proclaiming His life, death and resurrection. But in addition to this, they are also couriers called to announce His Second Coming.
