12-Year-Old Girl Supernaturally Healed of Goiters After Declaring Her Healing by Faith
Faith means believing something that you want to happen has already come to pass, say Pastors Ken and Lesa Henderson. One 12-year-old girl had large goiters growing on her neck, but she clung to faith and believed that would be enough to heal her, Lesa says. A healing evangelist prayed for her, and even though the girl still had goiters, she believed she would be healed eventually.
“She went home to her family and told her family that she was healed. Now her family could still see the goiters were growing on her neck. … [Her mother said,] ‘I want you to go in the bathroom. I want you to look in the mirror and recognize that you are not healed; stop saying that.’ So the little girl went to the bathroom. And she looked in the mirror and she closed her eyes. She said, ‘I don’t want to see that I am not healed. … I refuse to believe that I am not healed no matter what I see.’ When she opened her eyes, right before her eyes, those two goiters fell off her neck into the sink.”
If you quit praying for something to happen when you see no results, you might not have as much faith in God as you should, Ken and Lesa say on the “Faith Works” podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. They emphasized that the keys to a faithful prayer life are consistency and persistence.
“It doesn’t matter whether we see it or we don’t see it,” Lesa says. “The Bible tells us that we don’t walk by sight; we walk by faith. The faith of God tells us that no matter what we’re seeing, no matter what we’re feeling, that we continue to speak it over and over and over again. Sometimes that means it could take years, that it may not happen the first time we say it.”
