Another Former Disney Star Goes Demonic

Another former Disney star has gone down the route of the demonic with her latest musical stylings.

Sabrina Carpenter, who was known for her role on Disney’s “Girl Meets World,” has dramatically shifted her image over the years, seeking to escalate her music career. However, this “grown up” image has unfortunately morphed into demonic imagery.

Carpenter’s latest song, “Please Please Please” discusses the devil being inside of her boyfriend.

I heard that you’re an actor, so act like a stand-up guy / whatever devil’s inside you, don’t let him out tonight / I tell them it’s just your culture and everyone rolls their eyes.

These lyrics alone seem to promote dangerous, potentially violent behavior alone. However, combined with the fact that Carpenter released a song last year called “Feather” that used Catholic imagery in jest seems to suggest something darker than the mere “fun and games” of pop music.

The music video for “Feather” was filmed in a Catholic church where candle offerings are shown with a container that reads “RIP,” a sideways cross and an angel wearing a shirt that says “Good girls go 2 heaven.” Carpenter wears a provocative funeral attire, with the video showing any man interested in her dying a bloody and gruesome death. By the end of the video, the coffins of the men are placed at the front of the altar in the church. One of the coffins even used expletives with “RIP” on its cover.

This video resulted in a Catholic priest losing his administrative duties, as per Teen Vogue. Catholic News Agency received a statement from the parish which said that the parish’s bishop “is appalled at what was filmed at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn.”

“The parish did not follow diocesan policy regarding the filming on Church property, which includes a review of the scenes and script,” the statement read.

We no longer live in a time or a society where we can just assume that whatever is trending is safe for children and even adults to watch and listen to. The years of trusting Disney and the stars behind their content are long gone. Instead, Christians must use careful discernment to decide what kind of entertainment should be allowed in their lives and for their spiritual growth and maturity.
