Bible Verse of the Day, Dec. 18th: Advent Season, Luke 1:39-45
Luke 1:39-45
Mary Visits Elizabeth
In those days Mary arose and quickly went into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She spoke out with a loud voice, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Indeed, as soon as the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a completion to those things which were told her by the Lord.”
Prophetic Confirmation
When prophets minister, confirmation will be the result. The saints will be “steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Cor. 15:58). It was necessary for Judas and Silas to minister confirmation to this particular church because of false teaching. The souls of the saints were being subverted (Acts 15:24), which means they were being overturned or overthrown from their foundation, weakened or ruined by degrees. They had become destabilized. When saints are unstable, they will not abound in the work of the Lord. After they received prophetic ministry, these churches were established in the faith. They were made firm and strengthened concerning their salvation. {eoa}
