Chris Pratt’s Eternal Words of Wisdom to Hollywood’s Next Generation
Read Time: 2 minutes 12 seconds
American actor Chris Pratt isn’t shy about his faith in Jesus Christ. In front of a crowd at the MTV awards he had an opportunity to pour wisdom into the next generation. He took those moments to share the sanctity of faith, the blood of Jesus and living a life with purpose.
“I was given three minutes to impart wisdom to the next generation. Given the chance to do it again I wouldn’t change a thing,” he wrote in the Instagram post.
In a crowd filled with Hollywood’s most popular voices, Pratt boldly proclaimed the eternal reality we all will face one day. “You have a soul be careful with it,” he says. In his humorous yet eloquent speech he admonished the crowd to take a look at their lives and positions of influence. He prompted them to not use that influence to bully others but to humbly lead and guide those watching.
“Doesn’t matter what it is, earn it. Reach out to someone in pain, be of service, it feels good and it’s good for your soul,” he says.
James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”
Pratt’s words aren’t just important for those in Hollywood with influence and wealth to hear. Pure and undefiled religion for all followers of Jesus is taking care of those who need help and keep yourself pure from the wickedness in the world.
“God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that, I do,” Pratt continues to the crowd. Although the message is simple it’s powerful. The Creator of the universe is sitting on a throne right now in heaven and He genuinely cares about you and your afflictions. God wants what is best for all of His children and we can enter into that through relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Nobody is perfect. People are going to tell you, you’re perfect just the way you are. You’re not. You are imperfect. You always will be, but there is a powerful force that designed you that way and if you’re willing to accept that you will have grace and grace is a gift,” Pratt says.
As he finishes off his speech he points back to the finished work of the cross and the blood of Jesus that was shed for all of us. “Like the freedom we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood. Do not forget it. Don’t take it for granted. God bless you,” he finished.
It’s incredible to see someone with a position in Hollywood, taking a moment where they were going to be glorified to instead give the glory to God. Pray for Pratt that he would continue to be emboldened to impact more and more people in Hollywood and around the world. {eoa}
