Evangelist James Robison, president of Life Outreach International and a long-time supporter of former President Donald Trump, gave Trump some strong advice going forward in his bid for the presidency in 2024.

“Sir, you act like a little elementary schoolchild and you shoot yourself in the foot every morning you get up and you open your mouth,” Robison said during a meeting of the National Association of Christian Lawmakers on Wednesday. “The more you keep your mouth closed, the more successful you’re gonna be.”

The last comment was one he made to Trump while he was still President of the United States.

During that time, businessinsider.com reported, Robison said Trump would hear what he was telling him, but Trump would not always heed his advice over a five-year period that the two had phone conversations. Robison recalled how he would lecture Trump and plead with him to stay focused.

“If Mr. Trump can’t stop his little petty issues, how does he expect people to stop major issues?”

Robison also had advice for conservatives and Christ followers. He said it was time for conservatives to get together and pray and stop trying to destroy each other.”

“Our real problem today is amputated body parts, and they are amputated mostly by the sword of the Lord rather than the healing scalpel of God to heal disease-defeated Christians, including leaders. We’ve got to quit amputating each other, slicing each other and come together in the supernatural unity that Jesus Christ prayed for,” Robison said. “We need to stop severing each other and build bridges and relationships, then maybe the family of the perfect Father would learn to look more like that Father. A fatherless world would run to that Father. I believe that with all my heart.”

Many other Trump allies have become cautious or broken from the former president.

Businessinsider.com reported that Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, a 14,000-member megachurch, told Newsweek that he would hold back his endorsement of Trump until he wins the GOP nomination for the presidency in 2024.

“The Republican Party is headed toward a civil war that I have no desire or need to be part of,” Jeffress said.

Businessinsider.com also reported that several of Trump’s former financial backers have left Trump’s camp in the last week including GOP mega-donor Ken Griffin, who instead threw his support behind Trump’s would-be rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Robison continued by saying America has no choice but to turn to Jesus going forward.

“Jesus is the only one that can lift us up out of our perfections,” Robison said. “He only uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. I would suggest you cling to that reality. The Bible was written by imperfect people.

“As an imperfect person following the one perfect person, let us show them what the body of that person looks like. That’s called the church of the living God, and the gates of hell cannot stand against that living force.” {eoa}
