If you’ve ever been in a spiritual battle, you know how important it is to keep your focus. Your spiritual enemy will do whatever he can to distract you. But why does he do this?
Ken and Lesa Henderson explain the answer on their Faith Works podcast. The Hendersons say the devil uses diverse tactics to actually rob you of your faith and throw you off track.
Lesa says she used to spar with a woman who would take any opportunity to take advantage of her not paying full attention. As soon as she noticed Lesa was getting distracted, she would sneak in a punch.
“Staying focused is of the utmost importance whenever you’re in a fight,” Ken says. “You really need to keep your guard up. You really need to keep your eye on your opponent, keep your eye on the prize so you can move forward.”
Lesa offers a list of things the devil uses to distract us:
—Criticisms.
—Accusations.
—Temptations.
—Betrayal.
—Persecution.
—Disappointments.
