How to Empower Your Child and Teen With the Holy Spirit
Chief Publishing Officer Steve Blount announced a new partnership between the Assemblies of God’s My Healthy Church and David C Cook to publish TRU Fire, a new church curriculum designed to disciple children and middle school students.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with David C Cook on TRU Fire,” said Blount. “With its well-known, established reputation as a curriculum provider to the broader evangelical community, David C Cook has proven itself as the perfect partner for us to help bring a Spirit-empowered children’s curriculum to market.”
For years, David C Cook has joined with churches across North America and beyond to write and test TRU curriculum with real kids and leaders. TRU is about discovering God’s redemptive narrative and emphasizing heart transformation.
“Since I’ve been involved with family ministry for more than 20 years, I am very excited about TRU’s philosophy to equip parents as the spiritual leaders of the family. That’s just what the TRU curriculum does,” said Roger Gibson, senior director of family resources for My Healthy Church.
Through David C Cook’s collaboration with the Assemblies of God, My Healthy Church will now offer TRU Fire, combining the signature elements of TRU with a distinctly Spirit-empowered perspective. TRU Fire was made available in beta version on Aug. 4, 2015.
“Working with the passionate staff at My Healthy Church, we are confident that God has aligned our paths for great kingdom ventures,” said Michelle Anthony, vice president and publisher of learning resources for David C Cook. “We are humbled to be a part of what God is doing both locally and globally for the sake of inter-generational spiritual formation at all layers of today’s diverse family structures.”
Mark Entzminger, senior director of children’s resources for My Healthy Church, has championed the partnership.
“Our goal is to see kids’ lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit,” said Entzminger. “TRU Fire provides a space for the Holy Spirit to be the discipler. We look forward to seeing kids learn to listen and respond to the Holy Spirit as He speaks to their hearts.”
