To criticize Tom Cruise is to criticize Scientology, and the repercussions in the religion are startling, says former member Leah Remini.
In an interview for 20/20, Remini opened up about the evils of the cult, even acknowledging that by revealing some secrets, she expects backlash.
“People need to understand. This has been my whole life and I want them to understand how it happens,” the actress says. “As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset becomes ‘us against them.'”
