It’s Crucial to Understand This One Thing to Hear the Voice of God
Author and speaker James Levesque says his son has a cochlear implant, so sometimes he speaks in whispers, and other times he just takes his hearing aids off. That can get frustrating, but Levesque says God speaks in whispers, too. To hear Him, we have to tune out the noise of the world and draw close to Him.
“To hear the whisper, see, I couldn’t hear my son because I’m in the other room yelling and just carrying on, and there’s so much background noise,” Levesque says on the Engaging Heaven Today podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. “But I actually had to go in the room where my son was, look him right in his face and hear him. My concern is, we’re looking for God in the loudest places, but could it be that He wants to speak in the whisper? He wants to speak in the still, small voice.
“It’s in the silence that He speaks. For years I’ve said, if we want to hear the voice of God, we’re going to have to turn down the volume of the world. Will it happen? People still don’t want to hear the voice of God. We are in the weirdest reality we’ve ever been in—the world stops, and we still struggle to hear God.”
