Mark of the Beast? Italian Student Has Working Bar Code of COVID-19 Certificate Tattooed on Arm
Could this be the prelude to the biblical mark of the beast? You be the judge.
A 22-year-old Italian student became an overnight internet sensation when he posted a video on TikTok after having the bar code of his COVID-19 certificate tattooed on his arm, several news outlets are reporting.
Andrea Colonnetta says he “hadn’t given much thought in advance before getting his latest tattoo, but decided on the topical—and practical—choice after talking it over with tattoo artist Gabriele Pellerone.”
The video shows Colonnetta entering a McDonald’s and lifting his arm to take a photo of his tattoo, the U.S. Sun reported. The most intriguing part of it could be the fact that the new bar code, although tattooed on his body, actually works, he says.
“It’s certainly something original; I like to be different,” Colonnetta, from Reggio Calabria, told the Corriere della Calabria newspaper.
The underside of Colonnetta’s left arm now bears a matrix of black squares from the QR code of his official Italian green pass. The pass gives proof of a coronavirus status—that you are vaccinated, have recovered from the virus or tested negative within the last 48 hours.
The European Union’s COVID-19 certificate has been required in Italy since Aug. 6 for entrance to cinemas, museums, indoor sports events or to eat indoors in restaurants, the U.K‘s Daily Mail reported. Colonnetta said he received both doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
