‘Mommy and My Other Mommy’: ‘Peppa Pig’ Introduces Lesbian Polar Bears
The hit children’s show “Peppa Pig” took the world by storm 18 years ago. The program is viewed by children and adults in 180 countries. The show was so popular with children, some parents in the United States claimed their kids began speaking with British accents.
Now, the show’s producers can claim it’s “inclusive” to add to the program’s long resume of accomplishments.
In the newest episode, intentionally named ‘Families,’ the show debuts a new character in Peppa’s class. This new character, Penny Polar Bear, has lesbian guardians:
“I’m Penny Polar Bear. I live with my mommy and my other mommy,” she tells her classmates. “One mommy is a doctor and one mommy cooks spaghetti. I love spaghetti,” the child says as she makes a drawing of her family.
This addition to the show comes after a pro-LGBTQ petition garnered over 23,000 signatures demanding that the show add a gay couple to be more inclusive to kids without traditional families.
“Children of same-sex parents may feel alienated by Peppa Pig, and that other children may be more likely to bully them, simply through ignorance,” the petition claimed. “Peppa Pig is not just for entertainment, children are inevitably learning from it too.”
Many parents have now filed “Peppa Pig” into the category of shows that seek to normalize the LGBTQ agenda, following in the steps of children’s shows like “Arthur” which featured a gay wedding, “Steven Universe” that is full of messages of inclusivity and gender identity, and “Danger and Eggs” takes place in a town where transgender children and gay couples abound.
While places like Amazon Video do have a large collection of Christian television programs for children to watch, some for free with a Prime subscription while others are not, there are also shows that parents would want to avoid. Pureflix has a large library of Christ-centered content for children to combat the wave of adult content that is permeating children’s media today.
In the wake of this inundating children with material that is unsuitable for them, multiple conservative media outlets have begun to combat this influence with in-house children’s programming. The Daily Wire and Prager University have invested millions of dollars to counter the revisionist take on American and world history, and instill programming with Judeo-Christian values again.
Another front parents can fight this indoctrination of their children is praying against the programming, and for the people producing this content. Jesus warns what will happen to those who lead children away from Him according to Matthew 18:6-7:
“But whoever misleads one of these little ones who believe in Me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung about his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of temptations! For it must be that temptations come, but woe to that man by whom the temptation comes!”
This addition to the “Peppa Pig” show is not the last instance parents will see of injecting sexuality, gender identity and deconstruction of the nuclear family in kids television. It will only increase in frequency if parents continue to subscribe to platforms that publish this content, but if parents cut off the cash flow and pray against this programming, change can and will come. {eoa}
