NASA Rover Finds Spooky ‘Skull Hill’ on Mars, Is It a Sign from Another World?
NASA’s Perseverance rover has uncovered something that’s turning heads on Earth — and it looks like a skull.
On Apr. 11, while rolling down a ridge on Mars known as Witch Hazel Hill, the rover snapped a photo of what scientists are now calling “Skull Hill.”
As reported by the New York Post, the bizarre formation sits within Jezero Crater, a 28-mile-wide basin believed to have once held an ancient lake. What makes the discovery so compelling is how much it stands out.

“While most of the terrain is light-colored and dusty, Skull Hill is dark, angular and covered in tiny pits — as if it had been dropped there from somewhere else,” said Margaret Deahn, a Ph.D. student at Purdue University working with NASA.
That might be exactly what happened.
Deahn explained that Skull Hill could be what scientists call “float,” rocks that are carried and deposited by natural forces like erosion or an impact event. “The team believes Skull Hill could have moved from its original location by erosion, an ancient impact, or another powerful natural event,” she wrote in a blog post.
Some even speculated early on that it might be a meteorite, but those hopes were dashed after the rover’s SuperCam analyzed a nearby rock. “It didn’t have the high iron and nickel levels typical of space rocks,” Deahn confirmed.
Now the leading theory is that the rock may be igneous — formed from lava or magma that cooled over millions, or possibly billions, of years. “Luckily for us, the rover has instruments that can measure the chemical composition of rocks on Mars,” Deahn added.
What does the Bible have to say about this sort of thing? Discoveries like these don’t challenge the truth of God’s Word — they confirm it. The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This includes Mars and every rock upon it.
Romans 1:20 then reminds us that “since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.”
While scientists continue probing the past with lasers and rovers, believers know the ultimate truth, that all of creation declares the glory of God (Ps. 19:1). Whether it’s Skull Hill or a sunrise here on Earth, the Creator leaves His fingerprints everywhere.
