News Brief: Chiefs’ Kicker Sends Undaunted Pro-Life Message During Celebration
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker isn’t intimidated by any linebacker or defensive lineman on a football field. It’s that courage that helped him kick the game-winning field goal in Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles in February.
Apparently, Butker isn’t scared of one of the most powerful men in the world—President Joe Biden—either.
A professing pro-life Catholic, Butker wore a tie that sported the Latin words “Vulnerari Praesidio” in cursive writing all over it to the Chiefs’ celebration of their Super Bowl victory at the White House this week. The Latin term translates to “protect the vulnerable.”
The tie was specifically designed for the White House visit by Live Action, a pro-life organization, dailysignal.com reported.
Foxnews.com reported that there was also a gold pin of baby’s feet, and they allegedly represented the size of a 10-week-old aborted baby.
Butker used his visit to the White House to highlight “the forgotten of our society,” particularly because Biden is a self-described “devout Catholic” but has been outspoken in his support for abortion.
“I want to give the most vulnerable, the unborn, a voice at a place where every effort has been made to allow and normalize the tragic termination of their lives,” Butker said in a statement. “As a father who has experienced three miscarriages, my wife and I understand the hardships that come with losing a child. Every life is precious and should be valued whether outside or inside the womb.”
Live Action founder and President Lila Rose said in a statement that her organization was proud to partner with Butker:
“President Biden is a professing Catholic who, as the most powerful man in the world, is responsible for leading the most pro-abortion administration in our history that has overseen a horrific death toll of 2,548 children every day lost to abortion,” she said. “I call on President Biden to reject the extremism of the abortion lobby and to protect the vulnerable children of his nation.” {eoa}
