Pentecost: Knowing God, Making Him Known
Pentecost is a dynamic holiday that marks the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as seen in Acts 2. This event actually has an origin thousands of years earlier and was called Shavuot in Hebrew. According to tradition, this was when God appeared to the children of Israel at Mt Sinai and gave them revelation of who He was through the Ten Commandments. We read in the New Covenant Scriptures that after the event of Pentecost, we now receive God’s revelation and divine instructions not on tablets of stone, but upon our hearts.
“THIS IS THE COVENANT WHICH I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, DECLARES THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEARTS, AND WRITE THEM ON THEIR MIND,” (Heb. 10:16, NASB).

When God gave the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the following are some of the Scriptures that were fulfilled.
The prophet Ezekiel gave this prophecy: “And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances” (Ezek. 36:27).
Jesus told His followers, “And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
Yeshua also said, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).
