Sean Feucht: Has God Heard Our Prayers for Massive Revival?
Nearly three years ago—in the midst of a pandemic—Sean Feucht could sense something was about to happen in America.
In July 2020, the evangelist and worship leader, along with 300 other courageous worshippers, raised their hands in defiance of an order from California Gov. Gavin Newsom on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. A mighty wind, which Feucht described as “fresh winds of the Spirit carrying hope, joy and prophetic perspective of what was about to come,” blew over the crowd.
The group sang. The group prayed. The group boldly declared things at “the top of our lungs that were contrary to the current circumstances. The group prayed for:
- A movement of faith to rise over the fear of the day.
- That the coming revival would be greater than what happened on Azusa Street in the early 1900s.
- And, that a new Jesus People Movement would begin in California that would soon sweep the nation.
But even as he began to doubt his own prayers, Feucht heard heaven’s cry. After returning home, he received a copy of the LIFE magazine cover from 1972 that featured the Jesus Movement. He remembered listening to vinyl records, sent to him from people all over the world, from that era so that he could “listen to those sounds of revival.”
And all the while, he says, he heard the Holy Spirit speak to him: “I’ve done it before and I can do it again.”
Indeed, God heard the prayers of his people. And three years later, 2 Chronicles 7:14, which reads: “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” is becoming relevant again.
Many may be skeptical, but revival has become a reality in America again. Feucht is leading the way with his “Let Us Worship” rallies that have taken place in 170 cities. During those rallies, tens of thousands have been saved, baptized, healed and set free.
It’s happening in the sports arena, where NFL football players gathered at midfield to pray for Damar Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a game on live television. “God worked a miracle and the whole world witnessed it,” Feucht says.
Then, Feucht says, “a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit captivated the world from a small university in rural Kentucky,” one with a rich legacy in its own revival—Asbury University. That outpouring at Asbury spawned other outpourings at not only Christian Universities around the nation, but secular universities too. These outbreaks of revival took many by surprise as thousands were crying out to Jesus with a spiritual hunger not seen in this hunger for decades.
But that’s not all. Christian movies, many of which have been released over the past few months, have garnered the attention of huge audiences throughout the nation. Moviegoers have been mesmerized by such films as Jonathan Cahn’s “The Harbingers of Things to Come”; Feucht’s own film “Superspreader,” which gained the attention of Rolling Stone magazine last summer enough to spy on him; “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist”; “Jesus Revolution”; and now the latest to hit the theaters, Greg Locke Media’s “Come Out in Jesus Name,” a film about deliverance.
Feucht says the momentum is only growing.
“Just a few days ago, a remnant gathered inside the U.S. Capitol rotunda—the ceremonial and sacred center of America—hosted by seven members of Congress worshipping, praying and seeking God’s heart for revival in our nation,” Feucht said. “We lifted our hands, raised our voices and cried out to God on our knees for a move of His Spirit.
“The fires of revival are now being lit in every U.S. Capitol building in America (all 50 of them!).”
Feucht continued: “Sometimes it takes a bold declaration of faith to give language to what God is already doing on Earth. Just like Peter boldly declared in Acts 2:16 while giving a definition to the phenomena of the Upper Room: ‘This is that which is promised.’
“What if this is the beginning of that moment for us? What if God is indeed answering our prayers and the intercession of many that have gone before us? What is these prayers for awakening, prayers for revival, prayers for a mighty move of God to sweep America are culminating in response from heaven in our day? What if a counter-cultural movement is building to confront the brazen demonic evils of our day?
“What if this is the beginning of another great Jesus People Movement? We’ve heard the stories. We’ve read the magazines. We’ve seen the movies. Now it’s time to experience reality.” {eoa}
