The Amazing 70-Year Mystery That Lies Behind President Trump
Could the rise of Donald Trump to world power be the outworking of a mystery 2,500 years old? Could this mystery determine not only the timing of his rise to the presidency, but also his decisions and actions?
In his new book, The Oracle, Jonathan Cahn opens up an ancient mystery that lies behind the events and people of modern times. A number of these mysteries unlock current events and modern world leaders—including President Trump. One of these Cahn calls “The 70-Year Mystery.”
In ancient times, the Jewish people were taken captive from the land of Israel into Babylon. According to the word of the prophets, the captivity would last 70 years. The 70 years would end with the rise of a world leader named Cyrus. King Cyrus would issue a declaration releasing the Jewish people from exile in Babylon to return to their homeland and their holy city, Jerusalem.
At the end of the year 2017, Trump issued the Jerusalem Declaration, recognizing Jerusalem as belonging to and comprising the capital of the Jewish state, Israel. In all of human history only two world leaders issued a declaration concerning the recognition of Jerusalem: King Cyrus and President Trump. But could there be more to the mystery?
The prophecy foretells that the king’s declaration would come at the end of 70 years. So, did Trump’s Jerusalem Declaration come at the end of any 70-year period significant in Jewish history? Counting back 70 years from Trump’s declaration takes you to the year 1947—the very year that Israel was voted back into existence.
Cyrus issued his declaration not only at the end of a 70-year period, but also in his first year of world power. Trump came to power in January 2017. He issued the Jerusalem Declaration in December 2017, just before the end of his first year in power, as did the ancient king.
But in The Oracle, Cahn takes the mystery to an even deeper level. Israel was voted into existence the night of Nov. 29, 1947. But on the Hebrew calendar the date was Kislev 17. The Scriptures give the time of the king’s declaration as “after seventy years.” Thus the 70-year period would end on Kislev 17, 2017. The “after seventy years” would begin on Kislev 18, 2017. On the Gregorian calendar Kislev 18 comes out to Dec. 6, 2017. Trump issued the Jerusalem Declaration on Dec. 6, 2017—Kislev 18—”after seventy years” to the exact day.
“The ramifications of this mystery are staggering,” says Cahn. “It means that if we had known the mystery back on the day when Israel was voted into existence, we could have foretold that 70 years later, a man would rise to world power and would issue a declaration concerning Israel and specifically Jerusalem—and would do so in his first year of world power—and would issue it in the Hebrew month of Kislev.
“What this also means is that he had to come to power just as the year 2017 was beginning. That means there had to be an election at the end of the previous year, 2016—and so there was. It means also that the outcome of that election was the presidency of Donald Trump. It all had to take place in the approach of the 70th year,” says Cahn.
