Doja Cat

The Latest Pop Culture Icon to Glorify Satan in Song

Another major pop culture icon is glorifying Satan with music. Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” shares about her ambition to be famous first and foremost above everything else. While the lyrics themselves are extremely vulgar, the music video takes it to the next level.

In the video, Doja Cat, shows herself painted in black wearing devil horns next to a man also painted to be like Satan as she cuts the umbilical cord to a developing demonic creature. The video is certainly not for children, or even for adults, and the lyrics themselves show the true colors of what power is at work in the song.

One part of the song says: “I’d rather be famous instead… I let all that get to my head.”

Another section blatantly says, “I’m a demon lord.”

And the term “devil” is repeated over and over again.

Another song, another celebrity, glorifying Satan in the most public way possible.

Whether it’s Taylor Swift referring to karma as her boyfriend and god, Sam Smith’s demonic performance at the Grammys or the spirit of antichrist manifesting itself through Demi Lovato’s album, it is quite obvious that Satan has found refuge in today’s music. Long gone are the days of tip-toeing innuendos. Instead, he’s making himself known, especially to children and teens who are more likely to listen to pop music.

So, why is he targeting this group in particular?

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

What young people listen to, what they learn and what they see makes a difference in how they will live as adults. If we allow Satan to get even the slightest hold on the next generation, then he will be the one to train up the children down a path of darkness.

We can look to Disney as an example from their greenlight for a new show about a young girl who gets impregnated by Satan.

There’s also the entire Target debacle from their decision to hire a satanist designer who created LGBTQ-affirming children’s clothing. Satan is no longer hiding in the shadows of our culture; he’s out and ready to overtake anything he can.

We must stay cautious of the kinds of content we open ourselves up to and what we meditate on. One of the best things we can learn to do is to fight the good fight through our prayers and meditate on Scripture as we keep our eyes locked on Jesus. {eoa}
