Top New Age Guru Renounces the Occult to Embrace Jesus
She’s not a nobody. Doreen Virtue was one of the leading voices in the New Age movement and appeared on Oprah, CNN, the BBC, The View and Good Morning America.
Yet in Feb. 2017, Virtue renounced the occult to embrace Jesus. Her salvation, though, was not met with ringing cheers of enthusiasm in her community.
“Since I announced my baptism in February 2017, there’s been a lot of speculation and confusion and even people who are upset at my baptism,” Virtue says in a video. “Even people saying things like I’d given up my life work because of Jesus.”
Virtue says she always loved Jesus growing up, but didn’t understand He was the Savior of the world. She was raised in the New Thought churches of unity and Christian Science. Virtue says these religions focused only on the positive aspects of the Bible.
She was happy where she was, and “My view of Jesus was that he was this warm cuddly bear with no edges.”
Then she met the real Jesus face to face.
