Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston became the fortunate recipient of a financial surprise when a plumber made a shocking discovery when fixing a toilet wall at the church late last month. The plumber discovered thousands of envelopes stuffed full of cash and checks, seven years after the church had reported nearly $600,000 stolen from its coffers, click2houston.com reported.

The plumber, known only as Justin, made the discovery public on a local radio show this week.

Throughout history, only two nations have been tied together by covenants with God.

“God made a covenant with Israel, but America made a covenant with God,” says Rev. Kevin Jessip, founder and president of the Global Strategic Alliance and co-founder of “The Return.” “America has broken the covenant made by our forefathers. As we know, from the Bible, God takes covenants very seriously. This has brought our once blessed nation under the judgments of God.

“The Renewal is uniting leaders who believe America is in a spiritual battle for the soul of our nation. Therefore, it must be won in the spiritual realm lead by God according to His Word. We must pray, then take a step of bold faith to re-establish America’s covenant with God and plead for His mercy as we seek to restore our foundational values based on God’s Word, the everlasting covenant, the Bible.”

Daniel’s 70 weeks are described in Daniel 9:24-27 and define how the end times are designed to play out. This 490-year event will bring an end to all sin and prophecy and marks the beginning of the end times.

Each one of the weeks is a seven-year period. We learn the Messiah will be cut off after the completion of 69 of the 70 weeks or 483 years after the decree of Cyrus. One seven-year week remains: the Tribulation. We know that God places a long timeout between the end of the 69th week when Jesus is cut off at the cross, the Christian age. After this long timeout period, we are to look for signs that Jesus is about to return to start the 70th week. We are seeing these signs today (Episode No. 65).

God tells us to be looking for signs close to the return of Jesus, as I explain in Episode No. 18. In 1 Thessalonians 4 and 5, God tells us to encourage and comfort one another regarding these promised signs. We are not to worry about world events in the last days because God has everything under control. On one special day, we will see God’s final signs and we can be assured on this day Jesus will come to take us to be with Him for eternity. We are told this should not come as a surprise; it will not be in secret; it must be visual. Within hours of our departure, the announced Tribulation, the 70th week of Daniel, will begin as explained in Episode No. 66.

Pastor Tim Keller chose to turn devastating news into a testament of God’s faithfulness when he recently shared of being diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

On Dec. 3, Keller posted on Facebook a short message letting his followers know his cancer diagnosis but that instead of sadness, he shared how it was “endlessly comforting to have a God who is both infinitely more wise and more loving than I am. He has plenty of good reasons for everything He does and allows that I cannot know, and therein is my hope and strength.”

Keller first made his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer known back in June 2020 on social media, mentioning that he had been recently diagnosed and was undergoing chemotherapy in New York City after additional testing was performed.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the celebrity surgeon and host of television’s The Dr. Oz Show, has launched a campaign for Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate seat now held by Pat Toomey, who is retiring. If Oz wins the Republican nomination, he will be the first Muslim-born individual to be nominated for a Senate seat by a major American political party.

But Oz is not a Muslim in practice. The son of Turkish immigrants, the 61-year-old cardiothoracic surgeon, who gained celebrity as a frequent guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, affiliates himself with the Swedenborgian Church of North America after being introduced to the church by his wife, Bryn Athyn.

Wikipedia says the Swedenborgian Church of America “is one of the few Christian sects that draws its faith from the Bible as illuminated by the teachings of Emmanuel Swedenborg. The church’s website says it is “an open-minded, forward-looking Christian church drawing its faith from the Bible as illuminated by the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772). If you have serious questions about traditional Christian theology, yet wish to explore the deeper aspects of the Bible and the Christian faith, we may be what you are looking for. We worship a God of unconditional love, whose warmth and light can deepen your inner life and give direction to your spiritual journey.” {eoa}
