Pastor Jack W. Hayford Dead at 88

Pastor Jack Hayford, pastor emeritus of The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California, died Jan. 8, 2023, at age 88. He served as chancellor of The King’s University in Southlake, Texas, which he founded in 1996, and was president of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel from 2004-2009. He also wrote over 50 books and composed more than 600 hymns and choruses, including the internationally known and widely recorded “Majesty.” But he was probably best-known as “Pastor Jack,” serving The Church on the Way for over three decades.

Born on June 25, 1934, the infant Hayford was gripped by a life-threatening illness and miraculously healed through the prayers of friends and family. Later, he was attacked by polio, and church elders anointed him and prayed for his healing. God granted another miracle.

“These two extraordinary events ignited in Jack’s heart a passion for God and convinced him that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in the contemporary church,” his ministry’s website says. “Contrary to our preconceptions, God is not economical with healings and miracles,” Hayford said. “Such wondrous works are frequently attending the proclamation of truth in Jesus’ name.”

Chris Reed Shares Key Prophetic Insights for America in 2023

Over the course of three months MorningStar President Chris Reed, fasted, prayed and sat with the Lord to hear what He was saying about 2023. This is part-one of the specifics God spoke to him about what is coming this year and into the next.

In the exclusive Charisma News interview, Reed shared prophetic words from last year that came to pass. It’s important that the body of Christ comes together and looks at the words God is giving and reviewing to see what has or has not happened.

We are breaking down his interview into three parts. In this article, we are focusing on everything God spoke concerning 2023 and America.

Council of Elders Prophesies: A Remnant Within the Church Is Rising With Great Power

As we enter into the year 2023, it is important to see the full spectrum of what the Holy Spirit is doing, both locally and internationally. This year’s theme, Bountiful Blessings and Turmoil, may seem to be contradictory! How can we have both bountiful blessings and turmoil?

The explanation is that we will see blessings in the midst of turmoil.

As the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, we have set our hearts to issue prophetic words, warnings and admonitions, as well as calls for prayer. Prophetic intercession is an important part of our meetings as we both hear from the Lord and intercede.

New Details Surface on Mel Gibson’s Sequel to ‘Passion of the Christ’

It’s been nearly 20 years since the “Passion of The Christ” was released in theatres and the impacts of the film were inconceivable. Now, Mel Gibson is embarking on another journey to begin filming “The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection.”

Filming should begin around mid-2023 and World of Reel reports the new movie will focus on the events that occurred three days between Jesus crucifixion and resurrection. Actor Jim Caviezel, who played Jesus in the original movie is reportedly set to return to the sequel.

“The Passion” became the eighth highest-grossing domestic film of all-time making $612 million worldwide. Back in 2004, Barna released a study on the impacts of the movie in the Christian community. In their study 53% of people interviewed said the movie had a significant impact on their faith and walk with God.

Pastor Jack Hayford Was the Pentecostal Gold Standard

I was interviewed once about Jack Hayford and made the comment that he was the Pentecostal Gold Standard. Christianity Today put Hayford on the cover and to my surprise they used my phrase in the headline. It was true in 2005 when Hayford was 71.

It was even more true in the years since. When he passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2023, it’s true that he finished strong. There was never a hint of scandal. He left a legacy of founding The Kings University, he wrote dozens of books and composed 500 songs including “Majesty,” one of the most sung songs of our generation. He was widely known and admired and best known Foursquare pastor since the founder Amie Semple McPherson.
Many leaders are writing tributes because he impacted the entire charismatic church but he also touched many leaders on a personal basis. I was one of them. I was very close to him and I’m grieving his passing.

We had a professional relationship that developed into our publishing five of his books; he was “senior editorial advisor” for Ministry Today magazine for more than a decade and I served on the board of The Kings University (which he founded) for nearly 20 years. {eoa}
