‘War Room’ Producers, Cast to Reunite for Movie-Watching Livestream Event
The day after the National Day of Prayer, War Room producers and cast members are coming together for a time of live prayer and intercession.
On Friday, May 8, at 8 p.m. EST, the creators of War Room are hosting a livestream movie-watching event on Facebook and YouTube. Alex and Stephen Kendrick, who wrote the film, and key cast members will share behind-the-scenes commentary during the movie and then take some time to pray.
The Kendricks hope that this event will provide a source of inspiration and hope as many across the world grapple with worry, fear and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our hope is to greatly encourage people in these challenging times and remind them to go to God in prayer, knowing our world needs it so desperately,” says Director Alex Kendrick.
The virtual event will take place the day after the National Day of Prayer, which has been on the first Thursday of May since 1775 and set aside as a day for people to unite in prayer to God for our nation.
“We love watching films with close friends and sharing insider information and funny, behind-the-scenes stories,” says Producer Stephen Kendrick. “Now we get to join the amazing cast from War Room and share this experience with families right where they are. It’s also a good time to remind everyone to get on their knees, as Ms. Clara does in War Room, and fight this battle together in prayer.”
Several digital retailers are offering the film at a discounted rate so that viewers can rent their own copy to watch during the livestreamed event. You can find which retailers are offering discounts at warroom.movie starting Tuesday, May 5. The website also provides instructions for how viewers can host their own Watch Parties on Facebook so that entire churches can participate if desired.
