Dr. Hakeem Collins says the enemy loves to use depression and anxiety to make Christians feel far from God.

In his latest episode of the “Prophetic Breakthrough” podcast, Collins opens up about a time in his life when he struggled with suicidal thoughts.

“I was 7 years old, and I remember looking out the window and had a seed of a suicidal thought: What if I jump out the window headfirst? Would anyone even care?” he says. “I’m 7 years old and had those thoughts. The enemy is after your mind. … I wanted to end it. I wanted to commit suicide, and I even thought, Would anyone attend my funeral? Would anyone even care? Would anyone even cry or miss me?

Collins says many Christians struggle with insecurities as he did at that age. The root of rejection, he says, is self-deception, which is one of Satan’s favorite tools to use against the church.

“Oftentimes we take on unnecessary burdens, unnecessary responsibilities, unnecessary pressure,” he says. “Don’t die under pressure. Don’t suffer in private, alone and isolated. I’m telling you, this is a season where God is going to break you free.”
