From “the little white church by the red dirt road” to Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ to developing a TV series around a megachurch, Oprah Winfrey says the church shaped her core.

The superstar revealed how the Christian community developed her as a person and a broadcaster in a new trailer for Belief.

Meanwhile, other celebrities have a different perspective, such as Justin Bieber comparing going to church like going to Taco Bell.

“You don’t need to go to church to be a Christian,” he tells Rolling Stone“If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn’t make you a taco.”

But for Winfrey, church attendance holds significance: “Church was our entertainment,” Winfrey says. “Church was our comfort, and church was our sanctuary.”

How did she go from a tiny church in Mississippi to one of the most well-known megastars and producers of a generation? Watch the video to see.
