Why Your Negative Self-Talk Is Opening You Up to Demonic Attacks
Do you ever ask yourself, “What’s wrong with me?” Evangelist Dennis Funderburg warns about the dangers of focusing on what you don’t have, which can distract you from running headfirst after the calling God placed on your life. The key to breakthrough is not found in giving the enemy an opportunity—it’s found in fleeing the lies he throws at you.
“When you focus on a life of what is wrong, and you’re living in the devil’s territory, the devil is always coming from a place of lack and defeat. So if the very origin, the very foundation of our thought process of trying to have breakthrough is a negative, well, you cannot defeat a negative by focusing on a negative; it just doesn’t work that way. …
“God is so willing to give you the gift of salvation, and I think that He has your best interest in mind … You see, it’s totally different, but so many people think that God is just ready to strike us with lightning every mistake that we make … The devil is a disappointment. He is a disappointment, but not you. God saw you worth dying for. Do you see the difference in the mindsets and how we’ve adopted a mindset of darkness rather than a mindset of life and light?”
Instead of asking what’s wrong, ask God what He wants to show you through your struggles, Funderburg says on the “Jesus Is Still Jesus” podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. Perhaps God is showing you more about Himself in this season, or cultivating a character trait in you.
