How These Charismatic Teachings Saved an International Evangelist From Hell
Jonathan Heng was raised in a Christian environment in Singapore. But if it weren’t for his exposure to Pentecostal and charismatic teachings during his high school years, Heng says he isn’t sure what his eternal destination would be.
Now, as a Spirit-filled, tongues-speaking, bivocational evangelist, Heng says it’s important, now more than ever, that the message of heaven and hell be preached adamantly from the pulpit.
“As a child, I had been brought to church and to Sunday school, and I was kinda familiar with Bible stories, Christian songs and hymns,” Heng told Chris Johnson on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Growing up in a Christian atmosphere, I thought that automatically made you a Christian.
“But I realized from the Word of God and some mass evangelistic crusades of Billy Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, Luis Palau and David Yonggi Cho that I had to come to a personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I was about 16, I heard messages on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and God’s spiritual gifts, and I thank God for the mighty move of the Holy Spirit in my life, or no telling where I might be.
In the secular world, Heng is a marketer and a corporate planner. But, he’s also a popular online evangelist and author who is spreading the gospel and the knowledge of the Holy Spirit all over the world through audio, video and print resources. He also preaches on spiritual warfare, healing, holiness and missions.
