Are Scientists Now Rebuilding the Fallen Creation God Once Destroyed?

Share:

What if I told you that scientists have now created something called a “woolly mouse” by mixing the DNA of modern mice with that of ancient woolly mammoths? It sounds like a headline from a science fiction magazine, but it’s real—and it’s happening right now.

Colossal Biosciences, the company behind this project, claims it’s a major breakthrough in genetic engineering. Their CEO, Ben Lamm, recently spoke in an interview about how they’ve managed to edit mouse embryos with mammoth DNA to give them traits like thicker fur, larger bodies, and cold resistance—traits specifically associated with the long-extinct woolly mammoth. They’re calling it a proof of concept for the eventual resurrection of extinct species.

And while the scientific world is buzzing with excitement, there’s one question almost nobody is asking: What does this mean spiritually?

As believers, we need to see things through a biblical lens—and this is a perfect example of why.

The Days of Noah Are Returning

Jesus gave us a prophetic warning in Luke 17:26:

“As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of Man.”

We’ve heard this verse quoted many times. But have we stopped to think—what exactly were the days of Noah like?

Genesis 6:4 tells us about the Nephilim, a race of giants born from the union of the “sons of God” (understood to be fallen angels) and human women. This was a direct corruption of God’s creation—a genetic manipulation of humanity, and it was so serious that God brought the flood to wipe out nearly all life on Earth.

That wasn’t just about violence or lawlessness. It was about the corruption of life itself. It was about crossing the sacred boundaries God established between species, between man and angel, between natural and unnatural.

And now here we are, once again, playing with ancient DNA—blurring the lines of what God originally made.

A Forgotten History of Corruption

Some insights on what happened during those days come from ‘The Book of Giants,’ an apocryphal text found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. While not part of Scripture, it does provide historical context that supports what we read in Genesis.

According to this text, the fallen angels—also known as the Watchers—not only defiled human women, but also committed unnatural acts with animals, producing hybrid creatures that were never part of God’s original design. It speaks of forbidden knowledge, unnatural offspring, and crossbred species that brought chaos to the Earth.

Now think about that.

If the Nephilim were “giants” born from fallen angels and human women, could it be that the massive, monstrous beasts from ancient times—woolly mammoths, saber-tooth tigers, and dinosaurs—were the animal versions of this same genetic corruption?

It’s a chilling thought, but one that lines up with what Scripture says about the earth becoming “filled with violence” and corrupted in every way before the flood.

So if God destroyed the world because of such corruption, what are we doing by trying to bring it back?

The Next Step: Resurrecting Extinct Humans?

And here’s where things get even more disturbing.

What happens when scientists decide it’s not just animals they want to bring back—but extinct human species? What happens if they resurrect Neanderthals?

It’s not just science fiction. It’s a very real possibility with current technology. The same methods being used to edit mammoth DNA could theoretically be used to recreate extinct humanoid species. But this opens up serious spiritual questions no scientist is equipped to answer.

Would such beings even have souls? Were they part of God’s original design—or could they have been part of the corrupted line caused by fallen angels?

Bringing back such a species could cross a spiritual boundary we’re not meant to touch. Just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should. And just like in Noah’s day, tampering with God’s design leads to judgment—not progress.

We Must Be Spiritually Alert

Romans 1 warns us that humanity will “exchange the truth of God for a lie” and worship the creation rather than the Creator. We’re seeing that now—science chasing after lost species while ignoring the spiritual consequences.

But we, the Church, are not called to panic—we’re called to be the remnant.

Just like Noah was faithful in a world full of wickedness, we are called to be faithful in this generation. To stand for truth, preach the gospel, and shine light into darkness. We have the Holy Spirit living within us, and we are equipped for spiritual warfare.

Matthew 25 reminds us of the five wise virgins who were ready for the Bridegroom’s return. Will we be ready? Or will we be so distracted by man’s technological wonders that we miss the signs unfolding all around us?

Don’t Be Deceived—Be Discerners

Bringing back extinct species might look like a noble cause on the surface. But spiritually, it mirrors the rebellion that marked the pre-flood world.

As believers, we must stay grounded in Scripture, keep our lamps full, and continue to call out deception when we see it. The return of Jesus is drawing near. The world is racing back toward the days of Noah—but the Church must rise up, filled with truth, fire, and the boldness to stand.

This is not the time to be silent.

This is the time to proclaim the name of Jesus—boldly, fearlessly, and without compromise.
