The Simple Act of Kindness That Led Bloodthirsty Militants to Christ

A man who risks his life to share the gospel in Africa recently revealed a potentially deadly scenario he faced that was thwarted by a simple act of love and compassion.

Oscar Amaechina, president of Afri-Mission and Evangelism Network, a group that seeks to preach the gospel in African towns where people have never heard about Jesus, told The Christian Post about a group of people he once encountered on a challenging mission field in Nigeria.

“We were ministering to people, and some people came to kill us. They confessed that they were there to kill us,” he said. “We saw them with their machetes, we saw them with their swords, and we believed that that was our last breath.”

The Gospel Dunamis Absent From Today’s Churches and Seminaries

At the close of our 2009 Pastors & Pews event in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Hector Falcon handed me a book by Joseph Boot, titled The Mission of God, A Manifesto of Hope For Society. Hector Falcon is a graduate of Regent University, University of Wisconsin and Christ for the Nations Bible College. He studied historical theology at Westminster Seminary and now teaches classes in world religions, American Christian history, American government, Christian history, political science and Christian worldview.

Governors in 4 States Plan to Lift School Mask Mandates

The governors of four states announced plans Monday to lift statewide mask requirements in schools by the end of February or March, citing the rapid easing of COVID-19′s omicron surge.

The decisions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey and Oregon were announced as state and local governments grapple with which virus restrictions to jettison and which ones to keep in place. The changes also come amid a growing sense that the virus is never going to go away and Americans need to find a way to coexist with it.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy called the move “a huge step back to normalcy for our kids” and said individual school districts will be free to continue requiring masks after the state mandate ends Mar. 7. {eoa}
