Vision of Jesus Turns Rapper and Former Hindu M.I.A.’s World ‘Upside-Down’

Rapper M.I.A., whose hit “Paper Planes” made her a star, says in 2017 she saw Jesus Christ in a vision, and now she’s a born-again Christian. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, M.I.A., whose real name is Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam revealed the dramatic turn of events.

“Being a Tamil and being a Hindu, I was very comfortable that I’d arrived finding myself,” she tells Lowe. “Which is, I think, going to be weird for America to process. But I had a vision and I saw the vision of Jesus Christ. It’s very, creatively, it’s a very crazy thing because it turned my world upside-down. Because everything I thought and believed was no longer the case.”

Lowe then clarifies, “I think people are going to be more focusing on the fact that, I think, and, correct me if I’m wrong, you’re saying that you’re a born-again Christian now.”

When A Backslidden Pastor and the Mafia Encounter Holy Spirit

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, when churches around the world will remember and celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Pentecost, however, was never meant to be a yearly celebration on the church calendar. It was meant to be the very life of the church, empowering each member to be an effective witness for Jesus Christ.

As an illustration of this, I want to share with you the following amazing story.

The Holy Spirit and a Backslidden Pastor

It was the most unusual introduction. After two weeks in our new home, Sue and I came face to face with our next-door neighbor, who was a tough looking woman in her mid-50s. We shook her hand and told her our names. With a cigarette dangling from her mouth she replied, “My name’s Adele. I’m a backslidden pastor from Brooklyn, New York.” {eoa}

Fired Teacher Refuses to Use Preferred Pronouns, Takes Case to Virginia Supreme Court

In the fall of 2018, Peter Vlaming, a high school French teacher, was fired for refusing to use male pronouns when referring to a female student who identified as male.

Vlaming filed a lawsuit against the West Point School Board and was dismissed by a King William County Circuit Court in Virginia, but he appealed to the Virginia Supreme Court. On March 3, Virginia’s highest court agreed to hear his case.

The high court is still deliberating the case. {eoa}
