Decades of Death: Abortionist Who Killed 40,000 Babies Closes His Doors for Good
After more than 50 years of slaughtering the innocent, 86-year-old late-term abortionist Warren Hern has finally shut down his Boulder Abortion Clinic.
Hern, who performed more than 40,000 abortions over his career, called his practice his “life’s work,” claiming it brought “great satisfaction and meaning” to him and his staff.
Despite his horrifying legacy, Hern praised his years of work, saying, “It has been a privilege to do this work for almost 55 years. It has been a privilege to know the many exceptional people in this field who were and are devoted to the highest standards of medical care for women and who are dedicated to the fundamental principle of reproductive freedom for everyone.”

As reported by The Christian Post, Hern described closing the clinic as a “difficult decision” and credited the “courage and commitment” of his staff for their decades of work.
Hern, whose facility was one of the few in the nation willing to kill babies up to 36 weeks gestation, remained proud of his atrocities to the very end. “No reasonable person would do what I’ve done, and most people are reasonable,” he admitted.
Still, he boasted, “I’m proud of what I’ve done.”
Meanwhile, pro-life leader Lila Rose of Live Action responded on social media, saying, “After murdering thousands of 2nd & 3rd-trimester babies over five decades, abortionist Warren Hern has ‘retired’ & closed his Colorado killing center. We will not stop working until every killing center is shut down.”

The chilling truth about Hern’s career is even more grotesque when one considers that, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, he performed over 1,000 second- and third-trimester abortions between 1999 and 2004 alone—on babies as developed as 33 weeks, many of whom could have survived outside the womb.
Hern even admitted he performed sex-selective abortions, killing unborn children simply because they were not the desired sex.
In his own words, Hern once confessed that at the beginning of his career, he suffered nightmares after seeing the “mutilated bodies of dead babies,” but eventually pushed those emotions aside to continue his grisly work.
No amount of rationalization can mask the evil of such acts. The closure of his facility marks a small but significant victory for life, but the battle to defend the voiceless continues.
