In a stunning revelation, newly declassified CIA documents confirm what many believers have long suspected: the supernatural realm is real, and demonic forces are actively at work in our world today. Among the trove of recently released government files, one document titled “The Poltergeist and Cultural Values” sheds light on chilling encounters with unseen entities, aligning with biblical teachings on spiritual warfare.

The document, which analyzes two poltergeist cases—one in Brazil and another in the United States—offers a stark contrast between how different cultures interpret supernatural disturbances.
As Christian leader Mike Signorelli describes, the Brazilian case involved a Pentecostal family experiencing unexplained phenomena such as moving objects, eerie noises and even physical attacks. Recognizing these events as demonic, the family turned to their spiritual leaders, who anointed the home with oil and engaged in fervent prayer.
“This is from the CIA,” Signorelli says. “This is an official government document that’s substantiating the reality that anointing a home with oil can bring relief when there’s demonic influence…spiritual warfare conducted by the pastor actually worked in this instance.”
In contrast, the American case centered around a young boy whose household experienced similar paranormal activity. However, instead of acknowledging the spiritual dimension, researchers in the U.S. dismissed the events as psychokinesis—the supposed ability of the human mind to move objects unconsciously. This stark difference highlights how cultures may explain away spiritual warfare with psychological or scientific reasoning, leaving many vulnerable to unseen influences.
“Here’s what this tells us,” Signorelli says. “Western culture often dismisses the supernatural. They’ll call it like some kind of psychic ability while other cultures will acknowledge spiritual warfare and actively fight.”
With demonic encounters, UFO sightings and paranormal phenomena increasing worldwide, now is the time for the body of Christ to stand firm in faith.
